All ads must be created to the exact dimensions of the ad space purchased. Tastes of Italia may alter ads not created to fit our templates.
Tastes of Italia is produced on Macintosh equipment. The preferred page layout program is Quark XPress. We will accept InDesign files. It is important to make sure all supporting graphics and fonts are included with the file. Support graphics should be eps or tiff, a minimum of 300 dpi at the actual size the graphic is used in the document and CMYK. Illustrator and Freehand files are accepted as long as all art is embedded and type is outlined.
The above programs will work in either the Macintosh or IBM platform. Documents created in programs other than what has been listed above will not be accepted.
Tastes of Italia prefers only type 1 fonts (Adobe typefaces work best). Tastes of Italia is not responsible for shifted type if other than type 1 fonts are used. If a font does not work on our system, we will substitute font that matches as close as possible. Tastes of Italia is not responsible for provided fonts that do not work with our system. Do not stylize type in menu bar. Tastes of Italia is not responsible for type that prints incorrectly if stylized type is used. Include all typefaces used in your file along with the ad. Both screen and printer fonts must be sent. Your ad will not be processed if all fonts are not included.
Color scans must be no less than 300 dpi at the actual size they will be used. Black and white scans must be no less than 300 dpi at actual size. Include all linked files when sending your ad. Screens less than 10% should not be used. All images must be CMYK or grayscale. No RGB.
When creating or choosing new colors, make sure they are converted to CMYK. No spot colors, RGB, etc. (this includes art created in Illustrator or Freehand.) Also be sure to name your new colors. Do not leave new colors labeled as default “New Color”.
